Katherine Nauman is a Horton technique instructor, performer and arts administrator. In the Bay Area she has taught Horton at: UC Berkeley, SF State University, Alonzo King LINES Dance Center, Shawl-Anderson Dance Center and Dance Connection Palo Alto. She is currently on faculties of the LINES Training and Summer Programs and LINES Ballet BFA at Dominican University of CA. Katherine served as director of the Alonzo King LINES Dance Center for 4 years, and now works as general manager for the SF-based modern company, SOULSKIN Dance. Locally she has performed with Sculpted Motion, Ray Tadio, SOULSKIN Dance and Mary Carbonara Dances. Prior to moving to San Francisco in 2008, Katherine performed and taught in New York City. She was teaching and choreographic assistant to her mentor, world-renowned Horton master teacher, Milton Myers, and taught at Juilliard, LaGuardia High School, The Ailey School and STEPS Studio NYC, among others. Katherine has toured internationally as both Horton teacher and performer at festivals such as: Jacob's Pillow (MA), Internationale Tanz-Wochen Wien (Austria), Vortex Jazz Congress (Moscow, Russia) and Summer Arts at California State University Monterey Bay. Katherine is a graduate of the Ailey School.
