Katy Fox approaches yoga as a way to organize and understand our bodies, minds, energies, and attentions so that we can effectively focus on what we care for most. She has been teaching yoga in the Bay Area since 2001. Beyond preparing for her students and daily practice, her teaching and practice is based in: one-on-one, intensive mentorships & trainings in Hatha Yoga with Judith Hirt, M.Y. Ed (350 & 800 hours), a 2-year Body Mind Centering© certification in Embodied Anatomy with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, ongoing studies of Structural Integration (KMI & Bond), the philosophy of BKS Iyengar, the Yoga Sutras and other contemporary movement disciplines. She teaches out of her private studio in the Mission where her focus is on small group and one-on-one work. Katy also founded and directs We Are Movement, a project that creates body-related public spaces and urban installations.
