Katy Warner is a dancer, choreographer and teacher who has danced throughout the United States, Central and South America and Eastern Europe. She studied ballet with Earl Riggins, Harold and Lew Christensen, Anatole Vilzack, Madame Sholar and Madame Xenia Chilstowa, Carlos Carvajal and Alonzo King, among others. She has danced with San Francisco Ballet, San Francisco Dance Spectrum, Zaccho Dance Theater, San Francisco Opera and Santa Fe Opera. Katherine is a founding member of Alonzo King LINES Ballet and danced principle roles with Lines since its inception in 1982. Katherine retired from Lines in 1996. She has been juror panelist for the Marin Arts Council, Seattle Arts Council and the Isadora Awards Committee. Ms. Warner graduated with high honors from San Francisco City College and has her AA degree in Child Development. She has graduated Magna Cum Laude from San Francisco State University with a BA, majoring in Child Adolescent Development, focusing in Youth and Families. Katherine has been honored by the Isadora Duncan Awards for Outstanding Contribution as a Dancer.
Currently, Ms. Warner is master teacher with Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program, LINES Ballet Summer Program, LINES Ballet/Dominican University BFA Program, and the LINES Dance Center in San Francisco. She is an active participant in the outreach programs of LINES Ballet to youth of San Francisco's schools and after school programs.
