Employment Opportunities and Work Exchange

Work Exchange Program at LINES Dance Center

The Alonzo King LINES Dance Center is always accepting applications for volunteers to help support the Dance Center front desk, development events, and LINES Ballet Company performances. The Dance Center is seeking friendly, approachable, and professional volunteers who are willing to commit regularly to one shift per week, or alternating weeks. The Dance Center has been committed to providing affordable, accessible dance classes and workshops in a wide variety of styles since 1989.

Work Exchange (WEX) Volunteers are an essential component in running day-to-day operations for the Dance Center. Some duties include: answering and directing phone calls, signing in dancers for classes, administrative assistance, and maintenance upkeep. Each Work Exchange Volunteer attends an orientation and receives training on the databases and policies followed at Alonzo King LINES Ballet.

We understand that dance classes can be a financial commitment, and our Work Exchange Volunteers earn credits with every volunteer shift they complete.

The incentives of volunteering in the Work Exchange program are currently:

  • Access to free Dance Classes
  • Access to free studio space
  • Discounts on Alonzo King LINES apparel and merchandise
  • Opportunity to take Workshops and Master Classes
  • The opportunity to see the Company perform during their Fall and Spring performances

These incentives are subject to expansion and alteration. Master Classes and Workshops limited based on space availability. To apply for the Work Exchange program, please complete the online application and submit it electronically.

Due to the high volume of applicants, you may hear from us two weeks after submitting your application. We will keep your application on file reaching out as opportunities and openings present themselves.
