Erik Wagner began dancing at the Pinellas County Center for the Arts in St Petersburg, Florida. He relocated to San Francisco to study on full scholarship with the San Francisco Ballet School and later joined the company. A desire to expand his knowledge base led him to Europe, where he worked for prestigious choreographers Maurice Bejart, in the Bejart Ballet Lausanne, and Stijn Celis, with the Bern Ballet. He has performed works by Jerome Bel, William Forsythe, Stjin Celis, Mark Morris, Lar Lubovitch, Paul Taylor, James Kudelka, Jo Stromgran, Helgi Tomasson, Val Caniparoli, Jerome Robbins and George Balanchine to name a few. His teaching credits include Wayne McGregor Random Dance, Complexions, Les Ballet Jazz du Montreal, Basel Ballet, Bern Ballet, Armitage Gone, Cedar Lake, as well as international dance festivals and schools. Erik was a resident choreographer for Dance Theatre of San Francisco from 2013 - 2015, a Guest Lecturer at Stanford University from 2013 − 2015, and currently teaches classical ballet for the Alonzo King LINES Dance Center and Trainee Program in San Francisco, California.
