A native of Clearwater Beach, Florida, Erik began his dance training at 15. At 17 he was awarded a full scholarship to San Francisco Ballet School and later joined the main company where he performed for 6 years. A desire to expand his knowledge base led him to work for other companies including Béjart Ballet Lausanne, Ballet X, and Bern Ballet. He has performed works by William Forsythe, Jerome Bel, Mark Morris, Jerome Robbins and George Balanchine, to name a few. Erik originated the roles of Prince Siegfried in Stijn Celis’ Swan Lake, and The Angel in Maurice Béjart’s, Ballet for Life. While dancing with Bern Ballet, Artistic Director, Stijn Celis, invited Erik to lead company warm-up classes and his interest in teaching took off. Currently, Erik is a faculty member of the LINES Ballet Training Program/Dance Center, and Smuin Ballet. Other teaching credits include Wayne McGregor Random Dance, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Cedar Lake, Les Ballet Jazz du Montreal, Basel Ballet, and internationally with ProART Festival in Prague, and Physical Day Bern summer program in Switzerland.
